The
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of some fax machines and printers because they pose fire and burn hazards. According to the recall, there have been seven reports to
Hewlett-Packard about HP 1040 and 1050 fax machines overheating and catching fire. One case resulted in significant property damage and another caused a minor burn to a consumer. About
928,000 of these machines were
sold in the U.S. and the CPSC recommends people stop using these fax machines immediately and disconnect them from the outlet.
CPSC also recalled
Konica Minolta printers, which can short circuit and overheat. The recall includes
Magicolor 4750DN, Magicolor 3730DN, Bizhub C35 and Bizhub C35P.
